Another character from Britain’s Got Talent 2009. The Shaun Smith build was relatively straightforward but it still looks very distinct to anything I’ve done beforehand.

The site features custom image backgrounds for each page, a video gallery and a photo gallery. This site promotes Shaun’s music and publicise his new career as a recording artist. As such, there are links to his MySpace and iTunes and the site aims to have Shaun interacting with his fans on a regular basis through Twitter, blog comments and the chat window featured on his home page.

Tour Secure was a simple concept but a difficult build. The client wanted a really slick setup that was anything but typical of a WordPress theme. The site features smooth-scrolling horizontal navigation using a JQuery script called Tiny Scrolling.

After slicing the PSD and placing elements, I coded the theme so that all pages were called and displayed at once. These were then positioned horizontally and the JQuery script setup to link between them. The site also featured a contact form and I setup and cofigured the site for them.

Althought a particularly challenging build, the end results were hugely satisfying. Why not take a look at the live site to see horizontal navigation in action?

WordPress Theme Customization for Simply Hypnosis Website

This was not a PSD to WordPress theme conversion but rather setup and customisation of a premium WordPress theme. The end user was not savvy with XHTML and PHP so for a small fee I was able to give them a really unique look as oppose to them settling with out-of-the-box features.

This is important when promoting your business online. Using WordPress allows you to make use of themes to easily change the look and feel of your site. However, if you use a commercially-available theme your site can end up looking like thousands of others and fading into the background.

Custom WordPress Theme Coding for Stavros Flatley Website

This was a PSD to WordPress Theme conversion for the boys of Stavros Flatley. If you haven’t heard of them, they were finalists in Britain’s Got Talent 2009.

A small WordPress site pulling heavily on social media. The site features several videos of the boys (and a lot more of their fans) as well as photo galleries and ecommerce functionality. Custom image backgrounds display for each page the user visits. The site also features a shop promoting Stavros Flatley merchandise. The site uses a series of plugins to pull content from YouTube and Flickr. This image shows a gallery that is easily updated via Flickr and automatically refreshed on the site. Clicking on an image from the gallery page displays this slick lightbox and expands the photo.

Aidan’s site was a huge leap forward from BK40. The site required blog content, custom background images on each page and called heavily on social media from Flickr and YouTube. The end results are really pleasing though and Aidan was very happy with the look and feel of his WordPress site.

Aidan wanted to be able to interact with his fans and promote his performances. As such, the site features an image and video gallery, videos in the sidebar, a shop and Gigpress which allows him to publicise when and where he will be performing next.

Custom WordPress Theme for BK40 Website

This was my first PSD to WordPress conversion for Industry Music Group. The site draws heavily on links to social media and features a really cool Flickr gallery. As the gallery shows, there are plenty of images and the rollovers give the site a really slick feel. Its nice to create something powered by WordPress without looking like it a cookie-cutter template.
